Default New wood type of treatment or stain?

Hello all,

New guy here and this has probably been asked somewhere else, but what is the best material to use on untreated body/roof wood?

Would epoxy paint or some kind of stain be the method to seal the wood?

What is recommended.

Thanks in advance

Stain is just to give wood a different shade. It will fill the porosity but it is limited on protection. Old school is spar varnish or boiled linseed oil. Polyurethane is in the modern category. Jamestown Distribution must have dozens of products for wood boats. I don't try to figure which is best.

Wood rots when it gets wet and fungus attacks it. Now most all Model A's are stored indoors and the roofs are kept in good repair so the wood should not get wet. To be absolutely safe, follow Rotorwrench's suggestion.
