Default Oil pump removal ?

Started to strip my 59a block down for a rebuild. Got to the oil pump. Removed the screen & pickup, the lock wire & pump bolt into the block. I assume it should drop out of the block. This thing won't move. Am I missing something or is there a trick to get it out. It'll be replaced but I don't want to break the pump housing off in the block.
