36 Humpback finally started
After a longer than two year hiatus, I finally was able to start the 36. Several
days ago I used a spare fuel pump in conjunction with a length of 1/4" brake line to connect directly with the fuel line in the engine compartment in an attempt to pump gas from the tank to the fuel pump area. As that didn't seem to be able to bring the fuel all the way I ended buying an inexpensive siphon pump from Harbor Freight which quickly finished the job. The next morning I decided to remove the existing fuel pump and use the one I had been hand pumping the day before as its suction ability seemed great. That did the trick so I figure my initial starting problem was the fault of the pump that I had been using in the car. Thanks for all of the suggestions offered. I'm going to make sure I run the old girl more often. Peter |

Good job. Send the "old" pump off to CharlieNY and have him work his magic for you, then you'll know you have good spare IF you ever need!!!
