Can some one tell me how to get the back of the front seat out?

The whole seat will have to come out. As the seat is screwed together I believe.

I have a '30 Briggs Blindback. I had to make / replace bottom of front seat. All the nails for the upholstery were taken out and then all the screws. If the '29 is like mine it is also attached on the side (both sides).

The back is upholstered to the frame on mine but the bottom cushion comes out.

The seat back has a steel bracket just by your outside shoulder that ties the seat to the door pillar. Both right and left side. On mine, I needed to move the seat back 2.5 inches as I'm 6 foot 4 inches tall. I made a Z bracket to replace the original bracket. Worked out nicely. There is plenty of legroom in the backseat area so it doesn't bother the passengers when I have them.
