Default air cleaner

Hello
Attached photo shows my air cleaner on my 1937 60 hp. I would like to clean the filter element but I dont know how to open it? Is it not supposed to be dismantled more than the picture shows? Its hard to tell how much dirt there is inside.

It's a oil bath cleaner, just change the oil--- they pretty much self clean, the oil is drawn up into the element while driving, as it drains back it carries the dirt, if you really feel the need to clean dip the top part in solvent--- let it drain, put it back in, the bottom part should have a fill line for oil, to service clean the "mud" out of the bottom and refill

Thanks Kurt!
But I also wonder a little bit about the oil level in the cleaner. I cant find any fill line for the oil.The picture show the bottom of the cleaner and there is stamped a "U" on the first level. Should it be oil op to this level?
I checked an old service bulletin and it said 1 pint of oil. But that is about 0,47 litres and I think that is too much.
When I opened the cleaner there was oil abot 1 cm depth.
