It is a oil-proof inulation paint that is used in starters/generators. It gives protection to the area and oil will not stick to it, so the oil drains off the sidewalls very well.

The red/orange stuff is G E Glyptal , electric motor & transformer insulating varnish. Can be bought at most electrical supply houses. Comes in brush on , or spray bomb.

Got it fired and broke in, and back in the truck! Now a lot of screwing around with wiring and plumbing, but the light is at the end of the tunnel

Got some more work done over the weekend. All I need to do is finish the wiring, mount the radiator and bolt the headers/exhaust up. A few other odds and ends but she should be running again soon!!!

Great looking truck!!!!!! and I am partial to "33-"34's, mine had a '51 Merc in it when I bought it in 1969 along with juice brakes and I restored it back to stock. I think yours will go a little faster than mine!!!

Got the radiator in, upper hoses made, wiring is done...I just need to hook up the exhaust and run a new fuel line (old line was on the wrong side from being a 4 cylinder originaly...and old line was 100% copper). It's getting very close, hope to have it about wrapped up this weekend!!

Thanks guys. I got the exhaust re-installed and the new fuel line nearly made. It was a pain, I had to drain and drop the tank to get the line to the sender. The fuel tanks in those trucks are smashed right up against the bed floor. Either way, I need a couple things from the parts store to finish that job, but the hard part is over. While it is on the lift I am going grease and go over everything under it, but I'm thinking this weekend will be some test drives if the weather coroporates!

Got it done last night. Just gonna double check everything while it's in the air and fire up this weekend. It snowed a ton last night...so I'm still in no big hurry to drive it yet. I do hope to drive it back to my house next week (supposed to get into the 50's)
