Question about the Ford Mack Ave. plant
Calling upon the expertise of this forum again...
Below are two photos -- one is the familiar photo of the Ford Mack Ave. plant we all know so well. The second is a detail of a high-res version of this same photo. I am seeking more info about the Detroit Auto Painting Co. and its connection to the Ford Motor Co. Since bodies were supplied from outside the plant, it is logical to theorize that this enterprise was possibly responsible for painting them. However, so far I haven't turned up anything. Thanks in advance for any possible leads.

Re: Question about the Ford Mack Ave. plant
Interesting question. The Mack Ave. plant was were the earliest "alphabet" Fords were built pre Model T- even before the Piquette Ave. plant. Why not see if the really early Ford guys know anything about the Detroit Auto Painting Co.?

www.thehenryford.org http://www.thehenryford.org/research/index.aspx They built a small scale replica of the building in Greenfield Village, but for the life of me I don't remember if it has the Detroit Auto Painting sign on it or not. Good excuse to get down there after it opens April 15th and renew my membership! Jay
