Default 48 coupe- Marsden nuts, cotter pins or safety wires

I torqued the main cap nuts on my 59AB engine and tried to safety wire the two nuts on all three mains. Couldn't get a good result with either the steel wire I had or the stainless wire. Tried to follow the recommended safety wire procedure but the wire kept slipping over the top of the stud. None of my safety wiring looked suitable, especially after slightly backing off a nut or two after torquing to get the holes lined up. So I used cotter pins that fit the hole better than the safety wire. Got looking things up here on the Barn and learned that some like Marsden nuts for this.
My question comes from the thought that all the cotter pin has done is fixed the nut to the stud. Same with the Marsden nuts. But what about the studs turning?
I'm wondering if the safety wires were used by Ford because the wires will keep both the studs and the nuts secure.
Am I overthinking this?
