Default paint questions

Hi guys I need a lil help w some part paint details.. sorry I got a few!

For both the emergency and severe break cross shafts, do the bearing retainers get painted? The 2 for the emergency and the 4 pieces that make up the service retainer..

Are the ends of both mentioned shafts painted or bare?

Anti rattle springs for breaks painted or not?

I see alot of people don't paint the section of the spring perch that nut goes against for the brakes.. was this a for deal or smtin that is done to prevent the paint from smearing?

Thanks guys for the help

FYI I'm building a fine point late 31 pickup

I believe everything gets painted:::

I would find it impossible to do a fine point restoration without owning the standards manual... you really should think about dropping the 55.00 which will include the latest just released revisions.
In the overall scheme of things mainly the cost to do a fine point 55.00 is zilcho.

From my newbie perspective (only here 18 months) , Mitch is right, the manual is worth every penny

But this may also help, they have a whole technical section with what gets painted what colour

I would think from the get go you could not have gone wrong by asking the paint judge! Wayne
