Default flathead v8 motor angle??

Ok..i just finished building a new flathead 8 running motor stand...before i weld up last two legs i was wondering that when i bolt the carb on ...what angle/degree if any should the engine be at or is it supposed to be completely level?

Why would you want to ruin a rebuilt engine by running it on a stant. and not in a car. All you meed is an old tire and a battery and a can of gas. have a buddy hold the engine while you start it. check for oil pressure and any un-wabted noizes. install in car and drive the sh*t out of f it.

Thanks for input guys...will b level.....an ol'ron...right on....i hear you...the stand i guna be for a twin motor i plan on building...pretty much using this new motor for a mark up...an while its on there i of coarse will run it...then spring will come i will gently install my motor...gently turn the key...start it up...then RUN the living shit out of it an shift when it stops pulling!!!.yeehaw...lol

Derek, I think what Ron was referring to was the damage that can occur from running a new engine on a stand. They need drivetrain load and varied rpms to break in properly. A lot of idling on a stand prevents the rings from seating, resulting in a mill that uses oil like there's no tomorrow.
