This is a joke. As you noted he has refused to answer the question that many people have asked.

All he has to do is Google the question and he will get his answer. I Google it and I don’t think it has anything to do with Model A’s.

I’m moving on.

I have been working all day and I just open the forum. Yesterday was Sunday and I had more time to read and answer. So please don't judge. I am not joking.

Let's go to my first posting question :

" anyone knows a water soluble grease that I can use to grease my water pump ? "

If there isn't one, then fine.

I appreciate the answers and the links I have received.

I am not really sure what is the question I haven't answer. On my first posting I was clear:

- looking for a water soluble grease
- for greasing my water pump.

If that was misunderstood then I am sorry. But I will appreciate very much to not judge someone without a justified reason.

All the best !!!
Daniel

Unfortunately I have a standard grease fitting to grease my water pump. Not one as you describe and I have seen in youtube videos

Thank you !!

Thank you !! I have read about K-Y and I will give a thought to it. I wasn't able to find d the pictured lub cup that you mentioned. Probably I did a wrong search among the Model A vendors. I will try again tomorrow.

Thank you again for the tip !!

The zerks on the rear axle shafts need the same care in not overgreasing. 3-4 pumps there are all that is needed.

Thank you for the tip !!!. I read that others just unscrew the grease fitting and add the grease with the finger to pack the grease and avoid over-greasing.

If I do not find what I am looking for and I end using a "water proof grease" from the model A vendors or just the Marine lube many use, then I will carefully look to your technical suggestion.

Thank you again !!

Use chassis grease was my recommendation! The grease fitting was added for a reason, not for ornamentation.

Thank you !! I will.

I ordered the Snyder's water pump grease. Arriving this Friday. I will buy a new grease pump only for this grease that i will also use on the chasis.

For the water pump I will first try the Finger Loading Technique and see how that results.

Best !!

Not grease, but NAPA sells water soluble oil. I've used it for other purposes and it does in fact mix very well with water.

A low melt point grease that still functions with moisture is what a person really needs. I use Lubriplate 130AA since it has a melting point lower than 180 degrees and will still have good lubricity when running with moisture.

A grease with a high melt point can clog radiator tubes if too much gets in there. Some folks use petroleum jelly or Vaseline. KY-Jelly was also mentioned. While both can be used in the presence of moisture, I don't know how well either one would be for metal to metal lubricity in high temp situations. Vaseline would have more lubricity than KY since KY doesn't contain any mineral base oil at all. It has water and glycerin as a base with antifungals and antiseptics. At least Vaseline has mineral oil & waxes for 100% of it's make up.
