Years later, a reproduction vulcanization was attempted by one of our well known suppliers, apparently with the use of preformed rubber, vacuum bagged, and cured in an autoclave. The boards turned out very well, with the unfortunate exception of those holes becoming sinkholes in the rubber. I do not know the next chapter in that venture, but I imagine either the problem was corrected or the project abandoned.
