Default Replacement head markings

My Fordor has replacement heads, part of its rebuild in 1982. The markings are:
Top line - AL, then the date 4-8-44 and below that the part #81-6050. Can you tell me what the AL means? What about the part #, is that an 85hp head number? And the date, 1944? Where did these come from, a military vehicle? The car has its quirks and this is a good one.

If both heads are #6050 then you have two drivers side heads.
The passenger side would be #6049 to make a pair. Except for the possible heater/temp. gage bosses, they are functionally the same.

These were nothing more - nothing less than service replacement parts. They were meant to for just that, service replacement.
By 1944 the heads were designed to be interchangeable.
