Default 1931 Slant Window Inside Mirror

The mirror that came with my car was damaged when I got the car. The silver on the back is coming off. This mirror is 5" long by 2 3/4" wide & beveled around all sides. I bought a new mirror but it was not the right size & my bracket would not clamp down on it.

I looked in all the catalogs, but nobody has a mirror this size that I could find. I am not sure it is the correct mirror for the 31 S/W but would like to either buy another one like it or have it resilvered.

The bracket looks like fig D or E in the Judging Stds

I have a 1931 160B, unrestored.

I looked at the RG&JS and my mirror bracket is the same as figure E on page 10-7 Revised 1997. According to the table on page 10-6 Revised 1997 bracket style E is the correct bracket. My mirror measures 4-1/2" wide and 2 1/2 high".

hope this helps

I looked at the RG&JS page 10-9 Revised 1997 and here is the info you need

"Inside rear view mirrors were 7/32" thick, 2-1/2" wide
and 4-1
/2" long. After November 1928,
a few mirrors
may have been up to 5" long. Initially the corners were

square, but in April 1928, the corner was changed to a
3
/
16" radius. In May 1929, the corner was changed to
a 1/4
" radius. A scrap of upholstery material was used
between the glass and the bracket to prevent chafing of
the silver coating. In 1930-31, the screws and ball stud
were plain steel for mirror style D and E."
