Default 1938 Brake Drums width

I'm looking to find out the width of 1938 Brake Drums when new. I know they'12". Are they 12" .060 new? Any help would be great. Thanks Ray

12.00 in. dia when new.
The .060 in. is the max dia. allowed after drums have been "turned" or machnined to maximum allowable dia.

Once the drum. dia. exceeds 12.060 in. it's time for new drums.
At least that' the way it is on a 40 ford.
