Default Exhaust manifold rejuvenation

I have the heater exhaust manifold, that I'm getting an ear repaired, and I would like to clean up the rust, and paint it with por15 manifold paint.
What's a good recommendation for the rust removal prep work.?

yup - cast iron has a crapton of pores that wire brushing will never get clean. Bring a bunch of stuff to the blaster to make it worth while.

Has anyone used CAST-BLAST paint? Vermins' has been "curing" for 3 years, I "think" it'll be OK!
Read of a Guy that SUPER HEATED his manifold, afterward, it showed LUMPS of LEAD or SOLDER like stuff all over it!!! "Wonder" what caused that?????

The POR manifold paint has to be cured in the oven. 400 degrees for 4 hours. It's dry to the touch in a few minutes but will not perform properly unless oven cured.

Will sandblasting get all the rust out of the pores? Evaporust! Have the manifolds or check for flatness! before any work.

Yes sandblasting will get all the rust out of the pores. Electrolysis would work well also

Sounds Great! However, what about the "Droop" or bend that manifolds acquire over time? This is where the manifold loses it's alignment with the last port and blows gaskets out. I think its usually at # 1 cylinder.

Bill - I use Cast Blast and like it.
First time I used it I cured it in the oven. Stunk the house up REALLY BAD!
Very thankful my wife was out of town for a few days on a business trip. Won't do that again.
Now I cure it by by evenly playing a torch over it until it gets good and hot.

Heater manifolds are much less likely to "droop" than stock, non-heater manifolds. All the heater manifolds I have are straight as an arrow across all the exhaust ports.
