Default Gas tank Strainer and head light and horn conduit

Two Questions
1. Can anyone tell me which way the Gas Tank Strainer turns to take it out of the tank?
2. Can anyone tell me what the proper length of the head light and horn conduit on a 1929 Closed cab pickup? I know they made different lenghts.

1. Turn it counter clockwise.
2. When you call your supplier to order, specify your year and model; they’ll send you the right things. Bratton’s, Snyder’s, Bert’s, Mike’s are all reliable.

Thanks Ray, I'am not looking for new conduit, I looking for used original ones to match my 1929 rusty Closed cab pickup. A fordbarner has some but in different sizes, I just want the right ones.

According to Bratton's 2019 catalogue, page 29, the length depends on whether you have a 2 tooth or a 7 tooth steering box.
28-29 7 tooth with 44 1/2" shaft, 45 3/4"
Feb 29-29 2 tooth with 43" shaft, 45"

I think these are what you are looking for. I looked in the Judging Standards but it doesn't give lengths. Do you have fluted headlight lenses or Twolite.

The headlight/horn conduits that came on my pickup were not in very good shape. I ordered a set -- can't remember where -- but they were way too long and poorly made. There was probably 6 to 8 inches of conduit folded up inside the rad shell. I then bought a set from Bert's, described as their "premium" set. They were the correct length and very well made.

OK, I'll bite. What would having a two tooth or a seven tooth steering box have to do with the length of the conduit??

It seems that I misunderstood his question, I thought the OP was asking about the length of the horn rod.
