Re: Power steering on my 34
Hi scooder prefer not to sadly there are a few on the Barn who take delight in nit picking put downs which causes me to Post carefully quite often not at all, happy for genuine guys to PM me have photos shortly on the way to a couple of Barners.
5windowcoupe I have trialed the set up for over 12 months now and here we have pretty strict warrant of fitness vehicle examininations every 6 months. Apart from some professional machining require pretty straight forward utilising an MR2 electric pump and new mid 60s Mustang actuator and ram what a difference so light no extra holes are drilled anywhere. Cheers. |

Re: Power steering on my 34
Trevo, did you use one of those reaction type cylinder (cylinders, not ram,you know what they do) in the drag link, like an old vickers type used on bedfords.

Re: Power steering on my 34
Trevo,
Sounds like the bendix type power steering? Like the sort used from early 50's up Fords and corvettes, with the controll valve on the end of the drop arm to idler arm (center link) and the ram? I'll pm you as I'm looking at doin this on my pickup. Martin. |

Re: Power steering on my 34
I think the electric PS is also very simple and inexpensive. However it requires the modification of the steering shaft. Not really sure it would fit under a 34 dash, have a friend with one under a 38 dash.

Re: Power steering on my 34
See if you can find someone local with an F100 truck manual steering installed. Drive it, it might be all you need.
