Default Starting on Idle

Thoughts on why my stock flathead requires a little bit of open throttle after a 10-15 min break.
It will wind over all day and only start if I give it a bit of throttle. Have changed carbys without success. Mate advises (Lawrie) could be fuel rich in the inlet requireing more air ?. No issue when cold.
No big deal but annoying, I'd like it to start on idle

It is probably a bit rich. No problem when cold as it likes over rich mixture.

I am only familiar with 94s. what carb do you have?

Many threads on here listing the probable reasons for a 94 running rich.

Mart.

The hot engine tends to percolate fuel out the float bowl causing a rich condition and so more air is needed.
