Can anyone tell me the difference in lengths between a long bed 69 Ford pickup and a short bed of the same year.....and is the difference all in the front section ( ahead of the rear axle ) ??? Bill

A truck with an 8' bed will have a longer wheel base than the truck with a 6' bed. i.e. the cab to axle is greater. On some trucks, the 8' bed will also be longer in the rear, behind the axle.. The '57-60 8' beds are the exception, they are slightly longer in the front, cab to axle, with a longer overhang in the rear..
