Re: Help identify this FORD engine
Maybe the 20 HP engine used in the British Ford Anglia's? I know that it was much smaller than the 200 Cu in. Model A motor.

Re: Help identify this FORD engine
Looks like a English ford 8 or 10hp, these were real popular in New Zealand, they were every where.
I think from about 33 up to the introduction of the ohv 4cyl and 100e ,about late 40s early 50s Lawrie |

Looks like it. From 1953 to 1959 I think.

Re: Help identify this FORD engine
This is the English Ford engine which started as the Model Y in 1932 & went thru until the late '40's, maybe a bit longer in certain models. They were a rated 8 & 10 hp. in the thirties. This one maybe from an Anglia, as these were available in the US & Canada. They were marketed worldwide & very popular in Australia.

Re: Help identify this FORD engine
Go to the "T" Forum and look at the reply from Jack Innes. He posted some photos of a really neat custom, period made, "woody" Pick-Up made from one of these English Fords. It shows the same engine.

Re: Help identify this FORD engine
Your right!! English Ford engine .
They were still fitting them in the Anglia based Popular till 1959 !! I think it was one of the cheapest cars in Europe at the time! Then the Mini came out and blew it away !!!! It seemed old fashioned with its rod brakes, flathead engine, and transverse suspension {sound familiar?? the whole car was designed by Henry Ford when the Model A was in production} just with one major body style change in 1938 John Cochran |

Re: Help identify this FORD engine
That's a 10hp engine - the 8hp has a smaller hole for the starter. The 100E engine has an integral water pump.
