Good afternoon. I am looking for some guidance on my dad's truck. Is it easier to assemble the whole front clip as an assembly or put it together piece by piece? Any benefit or drawback either way? Thanks in advance

Consider if you assemble everything together off the truck ,radiator support, inner fenders, outer fenders, grille and any associated parts, they should be loosely assembled to allow for adjustment, then you probably need three or four people to lift it into place.
I always preferred to start with the radiator support and assemble on the truck.

On my ‘52 F1, I put the inner fenders on first and then put on the fenders and other pieces. It was pretty straightforward that way.

I'm 67 and my son is 26. For years we have assembled the whole front clip off the truck. Each of us on a side and we just set it on. As said, bolts barely snug. Then we adjust and tighten bolts. Now we have you all confused since we all have different Ideas. My thing is since I'm an older guy and sore and tired after work, we always lift away the front clip for engine swaps or whatever work to be done. It's the horrible rust bolts to cut etc on the first removal, but with stainless/galvanized/cad plated bolts and nylock nuts etc. After that the front clip in total just lifts away when access is needed, And Access is huge at 67, believe me.

Looks as if you parted ways with the full floater rearend and 8 lug hubs in front.

You padded the rear running board bracket. Was that before or after barking a shin on it?

Lol, after many close calls with the fender brackets in the garage, the foam was necessary. Yes, also went the 5 lug route and a 9 inch for highway cruising. Wheel choices are also better. Thanks for the reply.
