Al, Folks,
Yes this will get concrete some day maybe next spring? I did box the base around the inside of the poles. So the slab will not go around the poles, but float inside of them.
I could have spent some additional monies for a block foundation. I used the laminated poles that have pressure treated lowers and 2x6 SPF uppers.
Probably will have a central drain with 1 inch slope. Proposed 4 inch pad with wire mesh. reinforcement.
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Shed looks good, Chris. So does the Ford Jubilee tractor. Mine looks almost identical. It was handed down to me from my granddad, Sam, who bought my '54 new. Wish I was able to post pictures. I rebuilt the engine and repainted the whole tractor a couple of years ago. First time for me re-sleeving an engine. Went easier than I expected. Went with the big bore kit, adding a few cubic inches and maybe a couple more horsepower. It turned out pretty nice and runs great for a 70 yr old! Me, not so much at 77. Hanging in there, tho.

Al,
These are great tractors. The jubilee does most of the work while the Allis-chalmers get to go play in the dirt
Great you have a family tractor. I bought my dad's first Allis WD back from my aunt, restored and painted, then handed it to my grandson who has four boys under 11. Hope it's in the family long after I am gone.
I am setting in the shop about ready to call it a day. I have the two post truck lift operational with the help of our son and grandson. We have got most of the bugs out of it and are ready to try lifting the F250 for some needed repairs, to pass PA inspection.
John Kelley and I mowed grass for about 4 hours at the local tractor show grounds today. Having a fall fest there this weekend and a tractor pull next weekend.
Just made some maple mustard and maple BBQ to stock the shelves.
Put up about a sq of vinyl on the back of the mini shop this evening. We hope to have the garage door on in a week or so and the remaining hemlock wainscoting stained and hung around the bottom.
Hope things are good in Ford land.
The 32 waits for a chance to go for a spin!
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Ford Barn Folks,
Another tractor update that could be just the same on a car.
Friend John Kelley came over in his nice two tone 55 Club sedan. We started in on my Allis-Chalmers D14 which has had a really bad starting problem since I got it 2 years ago. We took the starter off and found a lot of dirty connections and about 2 gallons of mouse nests in and around the flywheel/ clutch/ starter area. Humm?? Could these have been factors? Well they sure could be contributing to it.
I will look at the starter in more detail tomorrow. Brushes in the starter are worn, but not worn out.

As the weather may change in a few days for the worse I want to get this Allis D14 ready for winter snow plowing adventures.

The AAB 32 Dump truck wants to go for at least one more ride. I am sure we will have a good day or two in November.
( I need to update my Avatar. The house is now gray! )

Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Mark,
I listen to Billy Joe as one of my favorite Pandora stations. Cranking it real loud in the wide open shop.
Hey you have been busy with a new room on the house.Plow truck rebuild too! Yea most of the folks on here are busy working on projects all year. Just what we do and why we are here. I think we are getting too old to add on to the house, but I have plans in my head and sketch for a great room added on to the back of our place too.
Your shoe box looks good!
I stopped to check on a friend that has a car that Cheryl keeps bugging me to buy! He and a friend had the car moved to his work garage, had the front end jacked up. And had just replaced the power steering control valve on the underside of the car. he is 92. Dam I hope I am still moving at 92. Maybe cars and projects, and music keep us young.
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Ford and Mercury Folks,
Here is a hint on the car mentioned in the previous post. Lets see if someone can figure it out. The size of this item is about 3 inches long. Almost to scale in this picture. Hint: It doesn't go on any car in the 32 to 53 time frame.

Chris and Cheryl

38 Coupe, and 51504bat,
Nope but getting a little closer, some hints in my message. And AMC may have used the red white and blue theme too.

Hi Chris,
I love your original dump truck!

Did you happen to write down the part #s for the hub seals? If you did, can I have the part #s please?

Did you replace any of the brake linings? If so what did you use?

Thanks,
Treven with the 33BB flatbed.

You will want to use woven brake linings.

Treven,
Seth is probably right on lining replacement. I did not replace any linings. Just cleaned and repaired where needed. There was a lot of lining left.
The rear seals were from Snyders. I don't remember the part numbers but they may have them. Call Snyders and ask for one of the techs. They can help you.

By the way when we had the 32 on the lift the other day we adjusted the brakes. Right front and left rear needed a couple clicks.

Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Folks,
brief 32 update. Yea this lift is a good tool. Just the oil change and brake adjust on the truck was a snap.

Forgot to tell you we have a new car in the stable! Great granddaughter Chloe has dropped off her pink 4x4 for some love too.
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Michael Driskell at Third Gen has a good and reasonably priced source for woven brake linings on original brake shoes.

Chris, You will probably get a better brake adjustment if you support the axles instead of them hanging free.

Treven, I just had Michael Driskell reline some BB shoes. I removed the old lining, had the shoes sandblasted and painted them with high heat paint then sent them off.

Looks like Chloe's runabout needs some adjustment on the toe-in. Maybe check the caster while it's on the lift. And at next oil change, don't forget that plastic cars always use synthetic oil. Chris, I want to thank you for sharing youre family with us. How blessed that so many have stayed in the area and stop by and remain a part of your everyday life. I remember hearing an expression when we were raising four kids. "Good kids don't happen by accident" and it's certainly the same with Good Families.

Seth,
Great suggestion to get brakes relined by Third Gen! I did not know that and will tuck that away too. Thanks for the information!

Bob,
I never thought about the adjustment of the truck brakes while lifting the axle. Kind of makes sense with the mechanical rods. And that is how I did it the first time a year or more ago. Thanks for the reminder. The several clicks of adjustment did not seem to make them any worse for sure.

GB,
We are blessed with kids, grandchildren and great grand kids. We like them to come buy and visit often.
Mike really has taken to the 32 truck. He and his girlfriend, Angela her son George and Mikes daughter Chloe, took it for a couple rides while they were here. Not every one can start and run a 32 commercial truck around any more! We are very proud of him!

Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

My car in the picture used that emblem on the console. Sold it in 1984 for $2,500. Stupid, stupid, stupid!
