1946 rear shock brackets

i am keen to use these on my 32 roadster, going to run telescopic shocks,
i dont want to weld on the after market style bracket to my axle tube bell housings

These are the factory-type brackets that Ford used in '47-'48 or so. They bolt-on utilizing two of the four bolts that secure the rear, brake backing plates. They can even be purchased 'reproduction'! Second pic shows how they mount. DD

Pure Hotrods carries the repos and they are located in Illinois. Once in a while they run an ad in the swap meet section of this site. I used their set and they work great. They are a little longer that the stock originals for cars that have been lowered. The phone # is 309-582-3547

Keep in mind, in a hot rod application, or any '32 really, the frame is much narrower than a '48, so by the time you mount the top of the shock to the crossmember and leave adequate clearance for the shock to travel without hitting the frame rail, you may find yourself with a not very desirable shock angle, very long shocks, or both. This is why you see shock mounts welded to axle tubes on hot rod applications quite a bit.

Yes indeed. The angle of the dangle does make a difference. Low angle lowers performance.
Young folks installing shock kits back in 1963 when this was done didn't know the science.
