Rear Axle Lateral Run-out
How much rear axle lateral runout should I find on a 29 T.S. after I take the rear brakes and backing plates off?
Thanks, Mark |

Re: Rear Axle Lateral Run-out
Are you not refering to end play rather than lateral runout?

Re: Rear Axle Lateral Run-out
You can't check axle run-out with it in the car because the hub holds the axle in position. It's likely something you don't need to worry about?

Re: Rear Axle Lateral Run-out
I suppose what I am referring to is once the drum and brakes are off, the axle shaft moves a good 3/8 inch in the housing up and down, back and forth. Normal?
