1957 Fairlane Power Steering Conversion
I'm interested in converting from manual to power steering in a 57 Fairlane Sunliner with 312 V8, but I don't see any "original" looking kits out therer online. Any suggestions?

Find a local 50's/60's car club near you with as many Ford owners as you can.
Start asking them if anyone has a parts car with power steering. |

If I were looking, I would let my computer help find parts in a dry climate. There are two scrap yards near Phoenix that will mail parts.

I'm putting a bolt-in Borgeson power box in my '57 Ranchero. Not cheap but they engineered it properly. Comes with the correct pitman arm.

The Borgeson unit is a good fit unless you want an original system with the slave cylinder. Some of those show up on EBay now and then. Check out Summit or Jegs; I think they have the parts needed to go with the Borgeson unit. A little alteration of the steering column required if you have a manual transmission with column shift but not if it's an automatic. Caution, Mercury is different!
