Default Spring bushings

I want to replace the spring bushings in my 48 car, it’s been 25 years or so and I imagine there has been a lot of changes in the part. Suggestion for the best would be appreciated.
Thanks, Rick

Do not just install them in any orientation. They should be installed at the working angle.

Andy is correct. 45 degrees is the desired angle. The photo below is a 40 Ford reversed eye spring with shackles at 45 degrees.

If you use a Delrin bushing kit, they do not require any special tools to install and will last forever.

If you have a lathe, you can make your own out of brass. However, DELRIN is less expensive and will work great. These homemade shackles and bushings are are 50 years old.

I tried a few "plastic" bushings. I can't tell one from the other, but they all squeaked. I finally went to impregnated bronze flanged bushing or flanged bearing like 19forty made. Available in different sizes from your bearing store.

Urathane will squeak.
Delrin won't.
Like any bearing, it helps life if you lube them once in awhile also.
