1947 coupe interior
I'm trying to get as much info together that I can for my current 47 coupe project.
I'm looking for some reference pics of the 47 Super Deluxe. Are the inside door panels something easy enough to replicate? |

I've attached pictures of my '47 which has won numerous p-reservation awards... you can see how the interior "should be".

Re: 1947 coupe interior
Two different style coupes too for 42 through 48. The sedan coupe has a back seat and the 5 window may have jump seats or no seats depending on how it is set up.
You really need a walking foot upholstery machine to do interior work. Some times you have to stitch through panel board and a regular machine won't do that well or at all. Lebaron Bonney has kits and prices aren't far off from what any trimmer would charge but they also charge to install them. You can put the kit in yourself if you are so inclined. Re: 1947 coupe interior
I'm not doing anything too fancy, just doing a hot rod with as much original trim, and overall look as much as i can

Re: 1947 coupe interior
does anyone have any blue prints for the interior panels?
I'm just looking for hole location and overall shape. |

Re: 1947 coupe interior
LeBaron-Bonney sells the precut panels. Will save you a lot of time and they are correct with all the holes. You might also explore the cost of a Cartouche kit. I've seen some of their kits for the 42-48 Fords and they look pretty good. They are cheaper than LeBaron -Bonney.

Re: 1947 coupe interior
From '41-'48 what is the interior interchangeability?

The 41-48 bodies are the same. You can change the interior pieces from body to body as long as it's the same body style.

Re: 1947 coupe interior
1941 is similar to 1942 but is different. 1942 has a lot of stuff that crosses over to 1946/48 but not all things.
You can make a paper pattern for the door and window knob locations. I use masking paper in the wide rolls to make basic patterns. |

Re: 1947 coupe interior
If this is your first try at interior upholstery, LeBaron Bonney is the best choice. Sure, it isn't cheap, but what quality is? If you have a problem or question, they can, and will, help. I once used their headliner in a Model A. It looked great when finished, but the next day it was hanging loose! I called them to find out what went wrong, and they said that their "blind stitch" machine was not properly adjusted. They apologized and sent a new complete headliner. I have since used them with near perfect results.
