Help finding a member who made & sold roll around engine carts
I'm looking for a gentleman who made really nice engine carts that fit either 59AB or 8BA blocks. They were powered coated and came complete. It's been many years since I purchased one from him, but I'd like to get two more.
Does anyone recall the gentleman I'm referring to or know of someone making nice roll around stands for engines. I'm not taking an engine stand, but more of cart. His design used the water pump pad for the front and bell housing for the rear. Any leads would be appreciated it. Thanks, |

Thanks, fellas. These look nice, but I thought the gentleman was from CA. I'll take a picture of the cart I have from him. Simple, well built, and just right.
Dang, I should have bought multiple units when I ordered from him. |

Re: Help finding a member who made & sold roll around engine carts
I convert auto gas engines for marine use and have been making my own roll-around carts since the 1960's ..... a pair of 2" x 10" by 36" to 48" long wood "rails" set vertical on-edge and parallel, normally spaced 24 inches apart for a typical set of marine conversion motor brackets. These rails sit on-edge on two 2" x 6" x 36" long cross pieces laid flat. They are connected together by hardware store 6 x 6 x 1" steel angles, braced by 2" x 10" cross pieces each end, and each flat cross piece has a pair of HD casters. If I want to test run an engine I just lag-bolt the engine down to the roller cart and make temporary water, gas and electric connections to the engine. I normally mount the marine transmission to the engine when testing unless the engine is going in a boat with an outdrive unit. Not as pretty (I don't paint them) as a metal stand or cart but they work, easy to make, and relatively cheap.
