Default Model a diamond block head

Can any one tell me if there is any real difference between a model A head and a diamond model A head. I bought a bunch of parts off a gentleman last year and one of the parts was a never installed model A head. I was moving stuff around the garage today and happen to see the diamond casting mark on the head. I was just wondering what the difference if any there was. Does it have any more value to restorers? Any information would be great.

I think the value is in the fact that it was never installed.

Of course you'll have to check it for mouse nests. Those nasty rodents love metal homes.

There is a perceived greater value if there is a diamond cast on the head.

I have afew diamond block heads. No real difference in them other than they are post 31 production. New may make some difference in value as it is not likely cracked. Rod
