Default Roadster Windshield Mounting?

Do '30-'31 windshield stanchions mount to a '28-'29 cowl? If not, are they close? Thanks!

No, 30/31's are wider by about 2" if I remember correctly. Besides, 30/31 windshields have the rubber weatherstripping on the sides of the windshield frame, whereas 28/29's have the weatherstripping in the stanchions.

gdmn: Thanks for the picture. I can now see that the curvature is completely different. Where the front edge of the base is concave to pick up a horizontal, the earlier models are convex at the front to pick up a vertical line. I see it now, totally different animals.

PS: I straightened your picture out.

There were aftermarket stantions with a hinge point made for 28/29 open cars. I've seen them for sale in adds a time or two.
