Default 28-29 Open Cab Top Assembly

I'm looking for someone with an original top assembly for a 28-29 open cab that still has its original parts. I need some info on original materials.
Thanks, -DAN

There is a cardboard or leather reinforcing material on the rear where the top material is nailed along the rear. Just wondering what this material is really made of.

The top is tacked to the rear bow which is made of wood.

I have encountered this on several 28 top iron assemblies . I believe they were both untouched from original. There is the original wood bow and insert in the front sides. They are not available but made my own. I have also used the tack rail strips like they use for convertible tack strips. It is a flexible plastic type that I use to buy in rolls from lebaron bonney. I’m sure it’s available from some of the top upholstery supply houses.
You might try wholesale USA in St. Louis. They are an auto supply wholesaler.

Larry, thanks for that good info. Have you worked on any original top assemblies for the 28-29 open cab pickup? Have any photos of originals?
