Default Donovan Model D engine

Has anybody used one of Donovans aluminum Model D engines, or have any personal experience with them?

I was involved with the purchase of a 1931 Sport Coupe out of Oregon in July 2010. The car was purchased by a friend of mine from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It had a set of Lincoln Zephyr gears and I have never driven a Model A that had that kind of performance. Acceleration to the 60's with ease and easily enough power to cruise in the 60's all day. I had it up to the 70’s on the interstate I-5 on the way to deliver it to the shipper in Seattle. Quite the ride. As I understood it at that time the engine was valued at around $15000.

If you don't have time to do it right the 1st time, how do you have time to do it the 2nd time?

I had a Donovan aluminum head on an A engine that performed as good or better than my B-F head.
