Default 34 v8 pan

Who has pulled a pan with the engine (34 85) still in the car? I have one that is banged up on the bottom. From what I see, remove the tie rod, take brake rods loose at center, take wishbone ball end loose and block down with a piece of wood, remove engine pans, crossover and starter and it should drop down. without having to raise engine. It appears the 85 crank pulley would not have to be loosened.

I did it a LONG time ago. I don't remember much but do remember rotating the crank for clearance.

Just did that exact job to fit new engine mounts and removed the pan to fit a new gasket the engine needs to be lifted fairly high I used a chain block with the bonnet removed it is a mission the hardest part was wriggling the pan down past the radius rods undoing the ball and holding it down with a block of wood as you have worked out helps but still a job also my gearbox was out at the time good luck

As said above, It will come off with the engine in the car. The wishbone will rotate down.
