Is there any doubt in your mind for $28 and some cents that I would have not gone for paying the man? how stupid is it for him to stand around with his finger in his ass waiting for us to unhook the Baylor off the tractor put on the pallet forks and unload our freight, while he already had parcel sitting on lift gate?

Via truck freight, liftgate service is always extra, so is rolling the item by pallet jack to inside a building, as well as Residential delivery. We have had customers require all 3 of the above, but they pay for it. Freight companies we use charge around $60 for liftgate. It's all 'safety' and OSHA crap. It basically boils down to money. That being said, your driver was an idiot to just stand there, but we have run into that kind before. Some drivers are helpful and friendly, others are by the book and won't lift a finger.

UPS used to be the way to go, then they got greedy and FEDEX entered the field, and guess what? Time for a new competitor! Any of you youngsters ready to start a new business?

Just try living in Anchorage Alaska, where both FedEx and UPS have one of their largest terminals in the US. Their prices to us here in Alaska are just way out of line compared to "the lower 48". For everything!
