Default Hood Stops For The Bonnet; Protect your paint

Protect your paint by stopping your opened leaf [s] of the engine bonnet from falling, even when the engine is running by this simple method.

It is a 4 inch long magnet from Ace Hardware and I wrapped it in blue paper tape.
Drop her in the slot longwise by the fuel tank and let the opened hood buddy up to the edge of the magnet. No more laying the leaf all the way over. And no sharp bolted on stuff to cut your skin.

It will hold the leaf up. If you use two magnets then booth leafs stay open and up.

If you really want to go all out, then dip the business end of the magnet into a can of PLASTISOL and let dry for a coated, not tapped, surface for the hood to rest against.

Magnets store on the firewall. These I think lift or hold 30 lb. More then enough. About $8 bucks each. I also use them to fish tools I dropped over the side of my boat. That's why you see a split key ring on the magnet's handle.
