Question Correct Path for the Negative Starter Cable?

What is the correct path for the negative starter cable. It goes through the rubber clamp mounted on the bell housing but then in order to reach the battery it has to avoid the pedals and service brake rod???

Page 395 of the Service Bulletins shows the new and old location if the cable.
