Dipper trough pits
#2 trough has some pitting. Probably will never go thru, but I would like to solder it up. The baffle is practically under it. I'm thinking its soldered on, so how to fill the pits? 95/5 solder, or what? TIA. Chuck

Re: Dipper trough pits
If there are no holes, don't worry about it.

Ah yes, a little adjustment of the bifocals and now I see the spot welds. Thanks

Re: Dipper trough pits
And your first rust through will just add to the small hole 1/8" hole that you drilled to allow the oil to go back to the pan so you get a "complete" oil change?
Well, some do it. Joe K

Re: Dipper trough pits
Curious, if the trough is empty on startup with the drilled holes, how long does it take to get enough oil in there to feed the bearings ?

Re: Dipper trough pits
Thats a question I've had too, never got an answer. I would think there would be a rattle or two and the holes then plugged back up.
