Default Cabbie or not?

OK all you cabriolet experts, I just bought a rough 30 Model A body. It has what looks to be a cabriolet cowl and windshield with the posts to hold the top down. Doors look to be chopped down coupe. The channel job is so nasty that I can't tell if it was originally a cabriolet back section or not. Anyone have any ideas? see at www.picturetrail.com/bartmcneill

I think you have accurately identified the parts and pieces. Whatever you decide to do next, there is a lot of work ahead. How old are you?

While I am not a CABRIOLET EXPERT, the studs on the header appear identical to those on my 68C, and nothing in hte photos look UN-Cabriolet to me, but I will let the EXPERTS chime in.
The door also looks longer than found on other cars, though I know my doors are long, I have never compared them to a coupe.
My vote is YES, its a Cabby.

I can't tell from the pics if the cowl could possibly be Cabriolet but I doubt it. The rest was unquestionably a Coupe once upon a time which of course is far from interchangeable with Cabriolet. It's a moot point as it will require both creativity and talent to make it into something more than a dream regardless what the vision is.

Was this a hot rod job gone bad? Where is the gas filler cap?

I own a sport coupe and a 68-C. Looks to me like a cut up sport coupe.

the header looks wrong cant see as the pictures are too far away
the doors have no provisions for window to be rolled up
they are solid at the top, plus they have the holes for the window risers mechanism
the rear clip is a 30-31 coupe or sport coupe, cabriolets never had the beaded tall panel under the trunk lid

Thanks guys, after looking at a bunch of pictures on www.cabriolet.modelahouse.com/cgi-bin/pictures , I believe the cowl is a cabriolet, the doors are cut down, bent over coupe and the rear is sport coupe due to the bead that blends together above the trunk lid. I bought it from a guy who bought it from a guy. I plan to sell it to a man that can take this sow's ear and make a silk purse from it. It will be a hot rod but this car is too far gone to do anything else with. He does some amazing body work and car builds in a little hot rod shop in Seminole, OK.

Certainly is a good start for a project. Is the builder on the HAMB.?
