Default 1914 Model T Gas Tank Shutoff Valve

I have had this car for 12 years and I have had the gas shutoff off the car several times to make it tighter. It always has a "runny nose" and smells up the garage. I am looking at shutoff valve #T-2902B in the Lang's catalog. It looks like a good USA made original style repro. Has anyone tried one of these valves and does it provide a tight shutoff? Is there another shutoff valve I should consider? Thanks for your help. Ed

The new reproduction shut off valves from Lang's are great. I have used several of them. I also recommend the small, aftermarket filter screen that presses into the top of the shutoff valve and keeps away any crud that might be floating on the bottom of the tank. Make sure you have a good, new petcock on the bottom of the shutoff as well.
