Question glass sediment bowl gasket

Purchased cork gasket for glass sediment bowl, according to parts catalog. Gasket has too large of outside diameter to properly fit inside metal body. Tried several local sources but no help. Looking for gasoline resistant gasket with square cross section with inside diameter 1 5/8 inch.

I think I would just sand it down to fit. Where did you purchase it from? The ones i get from Snyder's fit fine.

Get the Viton gasket from Snyder's. It is ethanol resistant.

One more time. I thought that I misread, sorry! Stick with the Viton gasket from Snyder's.
