You don't necessarily need to limit yourself to someone close by to do the work for you. Strap the block onto a small pallet and ship it. Cost of shipping is just a small part of getting a good engine built.

BTW, my engine was poured from one of Genes equipment.

I have gotten great advice from Mike Bender from his T Topics UTube videos. He admits there are various ways of babbitting and just shares what good experience he has learned over the years.

Babbitt is something left for someone with lots of experience. If I were in need of a rebuild I would not do inserts but that's just me.
