Has anybody had any success with 6 volt positive ground LED headlight conversion for 1935 to 1939 Ford cars ?

Re: 6 volt LED headlights
Anybody have specific experience with a good LED for the 1936. So far all I have heard is issues with focusing the light due to the lenses and reflectors in the 36.

Re: 6 volt LED headlights
The issues as i understand it with LEDS is they don't sit at the focal point of the reflector so you don't get focused light. You get lots of light but its not directed were you need it most ie on the road . I tried LEDS in my 34 (despite the fact that it is illegal to retrofit them in this country for the previous reasons) Despite the fact that there was more light Testing on a calibrated headlight machine revealed that most of it was not on the road ie as Kurt said it was " on the street signs and into the trees " not to mention the oncoming drivers eyes -I went back to halogen bulbs -I guess theoretically you could get LEDs that did sit at the FP but I would be skeptical given how most LEDs work ie not a pinpoint light source like a filament .-Karl

I have a new car headlight from Mercedes (1800$ without it's electronics), the low beam is LED, the high beam is halogen, I am going to cut it apart to get the led unit |

Re: 6 volt LED headlights
I have LEDs in my VW camper and they focus perfectly. I also have them in my 35 coupe and can't see the difference in focus on the back wall of the garage, but I have yet to go out on the road bird-spotting!

Oh, and they are also illegal to retrofit in the UK
