Default Headlight problems

Seems every time I drive my 39’ 1/2 ton truck the lights quit working or won’t turn off. Is is difficult to go to a modern pull switch? Don’t have a horn so it won’t be missed..

Yes, taillights won’t turn off either.

It can't be a difficult fix. I would start at the bottom of the steering column at the light switch.
Perhaps the spider has come loose on the light switch rod?

Wondering about removing horn rod and cleaning and lubricating shaft/tube.

I had same issue. As Seth pointed out, the spider had come off the end of the horn rod.
Dennis Carpenter sells a tool helpful installing the retaining clip in the groove on the horn rod. It enables you to push the spider back against the spring pressure and push the retaining clip in place. It made installing the spider so much easier.
