Well, I was pretty excited about it.....
Our local Shell refinery held their second annual open class car show this past weekend. Participants included employees, friends, family, as well as a couple of local car clubs. Total turn-out was around 40-45 cars or so - probably would have been more but the weather was "iffy" in the morning (clouds and wind, chance of rain).
Lots of cool cars and great people, hourly raffle prizes, a BBQ tent, and DJ'ed tunes made for a great afternoon. When it was all said and done, our little '31 took 2nd place!!! (it's worth noting that we had the ONLY antique "non hot-rod" car there). 1st place was a '61 Jag with a 'Vette motor stuffed in it, so I don't feel bad about losing out to that. One thing I can say for sure, we definitely took the top prize for lowest HP engine!! |
