Which wiring harness - 1929 CCPU
My CCPU project has no wiring in it. So, I'm in the market for a complete harness and am looking at my options at Mikes and just want to double-check my logic.
The options for my year are: One Bulb with Cowl Light One Bulb with Cowl Light & Turn Signal Two Bulb without Cowl Light One Bulb without Cowl Light & Turn Signal Since I have no turn signals or cowl lights, is it as simple as: Two Bulb without Cowl Light? If I decide to add cowl lights later on, is it an easy modification of the Two Bulb kit, or should I get the One Bulb with Cowl Light kit right off the bat? Thanks in advance.

Do you have a steering box and column?
A light switch? 2 tooth, or 7 tooth? Do more research before you buy. Do you own any books, or the judging standards? Belong to a local club? Have a restored pu nearby to use as a template? Slow down a little and save false starts. Bob |

Yes. And cowl lamps look odd on a 29 pickup in the opinion of some.

You have to look inside the headlight buckets, and see if your reflectors have two bulb sockets or one.
My 29 ccpu has headlight bulbs and parking light bulbs inside the bucket... I'm not sure but I think the rotary switch on the steering wheel is different for single bulb verses 2 bulb... I just yesterday ordered a harness from Bert's... http://modelastore.com/ And I agree about the cowl lights..too fancy for a pickup!

Re: Which wiring harness - 1929 CCPU
Here is a picture of my light switch handle....it has one position to the left for parking lights, and two to the right, low and high beam.
Also a picture of my 7 tooth steering box, And finally the headlight reflector.. I have been trying to sort my headlights since I first got the truck last spring..I had a mix of 28 single bulb buckets and two bulb reflectors and harness.... Take it slow, as previously advised!!

You have a 7 tooth steering column, but have you looked at the switch to be sure it's made for the "TWOLITE" system? |

Tom, he said he has one position to the left for park, and two to the right for high and low. If he also has an off position where the photo shows the lever, than he has the later twolite switch.

Also the 1928-early 29 would have the early headlamp switch with high, low, and off positions only. |

Re: Which wiring harness - 1929 CCPU
It's a late January 29 pickup...close enough to February, or did they start the Twolites on February 1st, 1929?
This is Nathan's thread. Direct comments to Nathan's issues..

The pickups and AA's got the changes later than the cars, so I'd stick with the early light system to be correct.

Re: Which wiring harness - 1929 CCPU
I suppose a vehicle built near the change-over date for any item or model year could have earlier or later parts or a mixture of both.
We are going by the engine number stamping date, which may have not found a frame for some time. Lots of possibilities

Re: Which wiring harness - 1929 CCPU
Is your taillight the later teacup or the tuna can like all 28's have. The tuna can, fluted headlight lens, 28 style headlights with single blub was used on the early 29's thru February; it used the second generation light switch which only has 3 positions: 1 position left for park, center off, 1 position right for driving ( no high beam), headlight blubs 21-3 candle power, the light switch is much different than the later 2 blub 29 style, the wiring harness is also different than the later 2 blub style.

WWW.BRATTONS. Com. Request a catalog and see what they have. I've used theirs for years and been very happy.
