Default A question for the Pilot owners

G'Day fellas,
What is the length of the dip stick please ?. A mate has lost his and I have found one that has different markings, just Full and Low on a brass tag which is riveted on to the stick, and measures 16" long. Hoping that someone may be able to help .
Thanks in advance,
Regards,Gary

Mine is 16 inches to where it seats at the tube.

The dipstick you describe sounds like a Pilot version...bear in mind the tube on a Pilot is correspondingly longer too.

For peace of mind it's probably worth doing it from first principles. Put a known amount of oil in (that you would be happy to run with) insert a dipstick. Make a mark where the oil comes up to. Always replenish to that mark.

Unless you are in control of dipstick type and tube length you could always come a cropper.

My 21 stud had that problem. When I investigated, I found the real oil level needed to be 3/4" above the max mark on the stick I was using.

Mart.

Mike B and Brian,
BINGO !!.Thanks for the replies. I was hoping that it was the correct one. I knew that it was a Ford one because there is nothing in my shed from the darkside.
