Default zinc scuff plate repairs

G'Day Gang,
I would like to have my original '35 zinc scuff plates repaired if possible.Does anyone know where/who stateside that repairs them ?. They are, well I think they are,in reasonable condition with the biggest problem around the bolt holes at the ends.
Hoping that someone may be able to help.
Regards, Gary

The melting point of zinc is down there well below comfortable welding temps. There is an alloy rod that is made to repair zinc die cast and other low melting alloys called Muggy Weld. It is a solder type rod that is furnished with a special flux that turns color just before the need for filler rod to be added.

I'm not aware of a person specializing in repairs for the scuff plates but maybe someone else out there is.

Hi Gary, sorry I couldn't make it up to see your car this trip. We left Bendigo today to head back to QLD.... we have to be onsite Monday in Mackay. I did get over to see Gregs roadster a couple weeks ago. Dan.
