Default compression,Fuel and Spark but no start 226?

Guys, Ken and i where trying to get my F1 back up and running today with no luck. I have compression and spark and fuel. But all it wants to do is A not start or will back fire alittle. We set the distributor so it was facing Cyd 1 and also made sure #1 was top dead center. Ive set it like this last summer and had no problems with it not wanting to start up. I have brand new 6v battery new battery cables and good ground from motor to the frame. Anyone have any clues ?

Thanks

Hi there, #1 cylinder on top dead center on the compression stroke (both inlet and exhaust valves closed) and rotor pointing to #1 plug lead in dist cap. Dist points just opened before TDC. Condensers can cause trouble so fit a substitute for a try. Regards, Kevin.

A little background as to the history or what led up to this would be helpful. Was the engine running last month and now it's refusing to start after sitting?? Is this a new engine to you and you're just trying to get it running?? The events that led you to where you are now will be helpful.

Put in a good condenser. Happened to me on my 226 H. The condenser wire was partially broken inside.

I had the same problem. New coil, condenser, spark plugs, you name it. Sent dist. to bubba and starts right up, like a new car.
