No you may not.

Packard car production was inspired for a reason.

Seems to me Henry's ideas on quality and how to run a business were great. So much government control now starting a while back actually that we're at an eye opening point in this country. Scary really

The automotive aftermarket companies are all competing for their market share.

They will do what they do best-seek out the parts manufacturers who will provide them with the lowest acquisition cost, so they can provide the lowest price to the end user, therefore realizing the highest percentage of profit.

They accomplish this by seeking out manufacturers worldwide, who can and will provide the parts at the least expensive acquisition cost (unfortunately it isn't the US manufacturers) so quality control unfortunately suffers.
The US companies have become nothing more than a re-packaging company in many cases, capitalizing on their past history/namesake.

Investors/shareholders want/demand a return on their investment.

Profits equal survival-no sales, no profits, no business.

If you ship of an original product to china and tell them to make a copy for half the money...you get what you ask for...
Unfortunately QC cost money so it is not as good as it used to be...
And when you buy that 1.99 piece that fails...throwing it in the garbage swearing instead of going back an returningin it....you just makes the lowpriced garbage parts working for the seller.
Whatever doesnt work return it and tell the seller what you think of it !
If a partsdealer get a damn negative feedback he stops selling it.
Manufacturing quality control at a good modern company is or should be better every year. Parts in most cases are not inspected by humans.
Scanners, xray, optical measuring and devises like these are now doing the inspections. These stations drop or push the bad parts off the line as they pass. Sure one gets by once in a while but not to often. What surprises me is the parts dealers will continue to sell junk parts made by companies that
continue to ship bad parts. G.M.
